The next edition of IEC 60079-11 (Equipment protection by intrinsic safety “i”) was published in January 2023, and it represents a major overhaul of the intrinsic safety Standard.

Manufacturers that have products certified to the previous edition of this Standard will need to familiarise themselves with the changes and consider how they affect existing products. Being aware of the new requirements of Edition 7 will also be helpful for manufacturers preparing to apply IEC 60079-11 to future product designs.

Colin Cameron, Convenor of TC31 maintenance team for IEC 60079-11 Intrinsically Safe Equipment standard and Managing Director of Mutech Limited, will provide an overview of the latest edition of IEC 60079-11 and discuss the major changes that have been introduced. Discover how this applies to your products, and the steps needed to ensure that your products meet the new requirements.

In this webinar, we will cover the following:

  • Background and evolution of IEC 60079-11 from Edition 6 to Edition 7
  • Overview and structure of IEC 60079-11
  • The most pertinent changes to the Standard
  • What manufacturers should consider as the next steps

At the end of the webinar, we will have a Q&A session.

Participants of the webinar will also be given access to an exclusive offer for technical support of up to 4 hours at a 50% discounted rate.
