Impartiality Policy

Eurofins E&E CML Limited and CML B.V.  both (“CML”) are committed to the provision of an impartial service and do not provide consultancy services directly or via a linked organisation. CML maintains complete independence from employers who manufacture or design equipment subject to the tested equipment requirements, or vendors, users or installers of equipment or materials being tested.

CML is able to provide technical advice on compliance with construction and management system standards limited to exchange of information regarding explanation of findings, clarifying requirements, and explanation of alternative routes to certification. Solutions to design problems or quality system processes or documentation are not provided.

The remuneration of CML, employed personnel and top level management shall not directly depend on the number of certificates issued, the decision on certification, test results, number of test reports issued, or speed of certification.

It is a requirement that CML, top management, or any employee, subsidiary, sub-contractor or outsource contractor shall not undertake any work for a client or potential client for product design, manufacture, design consultancy or quality system consultation, installation, removal or disposal of any product or quality system that may be certified by CML.  They shall not be directly involved in the design, manufacture or construction, the marketing, installation, use or maintenance of those products, or represent the parties engaged in those activities. They shall not engage in any activity that may conflict with their independence of judgement or integrity in relation to any conformity assessment activities for which Eurofins E&E CML Limited or CML B.V. are notified or accredited or approved.

It is a requirement that CML, top management, any employee, sub-contractor or outsource contractor shall not undertake any certification work for a client with whom they have previously been employed (or otherwise engaged) for auditing, product design, manufacture, design consultancy or quality system consultation. This requirement ends two years following the employee’s or outsource contractor’s termination of employment date or contracting end date with that client.
